Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day (WPPD) 2006

This year's WPPD was held on April 30. On this day people around thew world take pinhole photographs and post them on an online international Pinhole Day Exhibition. Visit the multilingual WPPD site at http://www.pinholeday.org.  As of May 9th 9am JST,  1212 have submitted there photos to the site, with 75 entries from Japan. My workshop group will be adding their photos little by little.

An article about Pinhole Day was published in the Daily Yomiuri Newspaper in Japan on April 27. Edo was interviewed in the article and two of his pinhole photos were used to illustrate the article. You can see the text at this link http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/dy/features/arts/20060427TDY18004.htm

Photo Portfolio in Nippon Camera

My Pinhole Photos are featured in an eight page spread in Nippon Camera Magazine March 2006 issue. This is the first publishing of a new series of dioramas called "Fears and Hopes" with theme of Peace vs the Other Side. Most viewers of my work have not seen this series yet. It is currently on sale in Japan. Maybe you can locate it in good "international" library or bookstore. I will post some of the photos here at a later date.

In February I had a chance to visit the AIPAD The Photography Show in NYC, The amount and quality of work on display was overwhelming. An report by me of the show with photos will appear in the Nippon Camera April issue due out March 20.

New Country Life Book!

My partner Shizuka Tsuruta and I have a new book just published this month. There are about 80 photos by me in the book with all the text by Shizuka (in Japanese only). Ttitled "Our House Built by Us, Living the Organic Life Continued" and is published by Bungei Shunju. It's a small pocket size book about the big project of building our house and studio in which we now live.
